Barenaked Ladies
In 1991, Scarborough natives the Barenaked Ladies entered Toronto radio station CFNY's "Modern Music Search" contest and walked away the recipients of the $100,000 grand prize. Over a decade later the band is the pride of Canada, taking their success at home across the border and beyond. Press-glib, funny, and fiercely unconventional, the Barenaked Ladies are one of the few bands that can get away with singing about whatever they please.
